This charming lithograph depicts the Grand Steeplechase Tourant at the famous Parisian racecourse of Longchamp. The course was a source of inspiration for many prominent artists, including Edouard Manet and Edgar Degas. The print beautifully portrays Longchamp’s distinctive final stretch, most likely showing the end of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. This annual event is the highlight of the calendar at Longchamp: held on the first weekend of October, the prestigious meeting attracts premier racehorses from around the world.
Set of two - 'Auteuil' and 'Longchamp'.
